I would like you to comment on the following videos. I would like you thoughts about how you think someone can come up with something like this with no previous knowledge. Guiding ships
I think that it's amazing that there are people smart enough to come up with things like that. I can't even imagine how smart these people have to be to come up with this. I already find this stuff confusing, I would hate to be the person who comes up with it!
I agree with Ryley it's pretty amazing that people were able to come up with mathematical equations with no previous knowledge. They would have had to be extremely patient and perseverant to be able to continue working on these logarithmic functions while they continued to fail. I also thought it was pretty cool how they were able to sail but the measurements of angles from the sun to the sea and the moon to the sea.
It doesn't even make since how people come up with these kinds of equations. Where did they come from? How did they know what to use? It took them a long time to figure out what was going to work. I don't understand how they know that the equation equals to 0. Math just doesn't make since to me. It is pretty amazing how math helped the sailors so much while they were sailing.
It's so crazy how people came up with math equations. Especially if they didn't have any previous knowledge. I just don't understand how he could come up with log. It just blows my mind how smart people are. Math is very important and we couldn't do the things we do with out it.
Along with everyone else, I think it is interesting how people have enough knowledge to come up with things so complicated without any previous knowledge. It amazes me how that it even possible, because if I tried to discover things like this myself I would quickly run out of patience and wouldn't have fun doing so. Although I'm glad there are people in this world that have enough intelligence to do such things, I would not be one to be able to take enough time to do this.
It just amazes me when I see some of these mathematical functions, as well as many other complicated things, because somebody had to come up with these things on their own without any previous knowledge. I just can't even imagine ever coming up with something new because I rely on someone for almost everything. That would take so much perseverance and trial and error to figure these complicated mathematical functions out on your own.
It is astonishing that, without technology like we have today, humans were able to form such equations and other mathematical advances without any previous knowledge. I believe that through experimentation with numbers and figures, someone along the way noticed a pattern and tried it to solve. I am sure some worked, and others didn’t. But in order for success, that means that these important figures in history prevailed through difficult and wrong calculations. They used the life of science and combined it with mathematical statistics and found a way to design equations to assist in everyday life.
I think that it's amazing they were able to do such a thing without all the technological advances that we have today. They would have had to have spent countless hours coming up with these things; they had to have been geniuses. There's absolutely no way I would be able to do it.
I think it is amazing that they could do these things with out having any previous knowledge or not using the technology we use today. Its amazing that people can just make up these equations by themselves. There is no way I could look at a problem and make up a equation that has never been used to solve it. People are so smart.
It is amazing that someone could just come up with these ideas alone. These advancements would be unthinkable if it wasn't for the contribution from multiple areas of practice. I am amazed by the dedication that these people had to solving an every day problem. Because of their persistence and many hours of figuring, these daily actions are much easier for us. This goes to show, that if first you don't succeed, try try again.
I think this is a very interesting thing to know. It shows how people without electronic devices found there way across the sea and that it shows it you got one small thing wrong with your calculations, you will go way off course. I believe that those people used a lot of trail and error to figure out the right way to sail and time. I could not imagine trying to figure out where I am at sea by using the sun and the sea. It would be impossible.
Wow so I never did this haha but I am in agreement with everyone else. It is incredibly amazing how someone to come up with equations with no previous knowledge.Especially after failing time and time again! I think I would probably just think it was impossible and stop trying so for everyone that has succeeded I commend and have great respect for you!
